Bennett Participate in Keep Safe Programme

On Tuesday 16th May, Bennett Construction were delighted to take part in the HSA’s “Keep Safe Programme” in Confey GAA Hall, Leixlip which was organised by Junior Achievement Ireland.

The programme brings together primary school children and various state agencies and organisations to talk to children with a common message – Keeping Safe.  It is an opportunity to present children with practical safety messages in a new and interesting way in order to keep themselves safe in any number of situations. The event promotes safety and community awareness through involving the children in a series of interactive scenarios, with a strong safety theme.

Approximately 100 primary school children from Leixlip attended the event together with Bennett Construction, members of An Garda Síochána, the Kildare Fire Service, Bus Éireann, Irish Water Safety, and the HSA.

Bennett’s Health & Safety Manager, Colm Sharkey spoke to the children about construction safety, demonstrated the use of PPE and warned them of the dangers on a building site.

This programme provides an ideal learning experience for pupils, and we look forward to participating again at an event in the future.
