Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, 26 York Street, Dublin

The multi award winning project comprised a state of the art surgical and clinical training suite containing a flexible wet lab, mock operating theatre, clinical training wards, standardised patients rooms and task training rooms. 

It also included a 540 seat auditorium, a library spanning three floors with 500 study spaces, a sports hall and fitness suite. 

The gross floor area of the building was approx. 12,000m2 and was constructed primarily of insitu concrete frame with structural steel elements incorporated from basement minus 4 (B-4) to 5th floor.  

The new third level education building was built upon the site of a previous uncompleted scheme which contained a basement box element only which was incorporated into the new development.  

Internal finishes comprised of high spec fitout, including floor and wall finishes, ceiling finishes, services including mechanical, electrical, sprinkler and lift installations, builders works, kitchen installation, built in joinery, sanitary ware, tiered seating, hard & soft landscaping, and upgrade works to part of York Street.
