The project involved the demolition of the existing Gascoyne community centre and the provision of 17 apartments, 3 townhouses and a new community centre at the Gascoyne Estate in Hackney.

The new apartment scheme was of light gauge metal frame construction which assisted in cutting the programme time and lightened foundation loads thus eliminating the need for piling.

The façade was a mixture of brick and rainscreen cladding. The apartments were designed to meet Code Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

Our client was Sanctuary Housing Association for whom we also completed the Lymington Avenue scheme in Wood Green on budget and ahead of programme.
