The development consisted of a new two storey hospice building over basement on the grounds of an existing live operating Hospital.  The project was delivered over two Phases which ran concurrently. 

Phase 1 consisted of the construction of new two storey building comprising entrance area with restaurant and chapel, day-care centre, paramedical area, daycare therapy and outpatient units.  There was an underground car parking facility with associated ramp, ancillary plant and circulation/ storage areas.  The gross internal floor area was 6,000m2.

Phase 2 consisted of new two storey building comprised of 24 bed in-patient wards with ensuites, treatment rooms, administration offices, bereavement centres and Mortuary Block and has a gross internal floor area 5000m2.  Each of the bedrooms had individual balconies overlooking the extensively landscaped gardens to the perimeter and to the courtyards.  The final landscaping scheme also included for surface car parking, new boundary fence to the site perimeter and attenuation pond.  

The project also included enabling site works involved in the provision of a link road from the existing Connolly Hospital to the new buildings.
